Website Report For May 06
Hi there! There have only been two Saturday night get togethers in May apart from that of the Roundup. So this is what
happened on those occasions.
Our first artist was Richie Gale from Bury who now lives on Merseyside, but has lately been performing in Benidorm.
Complicated or what? Richie was a very big presence dressed in black. He sang with the easy skill of someone used to performing.
The songs I particularly liked were 'Ashes Of Love,' 'All My Ex's Live In Texas' and 'Inside The Heartache Of a Fool.'
Richie was quite a humorist – at least I assume he was joking when he said that it took longer to find our club than to get
back from Spain! Apart from that I see that Santa was continuing his lucky streak in the raffle. Well, he needs the presents for Christmas!
There were lots and lots of gun fighters (15!) in the Fast Draw on that evening. The discipline was Long Arm and the winners
were Bronco first and Frosty second.
The artists on the next Saturday were the duo Goldstryke. We were transported from mainly line dance to the real Country
sound. The female half of the duo had a fantastic raw edge to her voice which teamed well with the playing of her male guitarist. Songs I didn't recognise were 'I Feel Lucky Today,' 'Old Mexico' and 'You Look So
Good In Love.'
There were fourteen gunfighters in the Fast Draw this time and the discipline was Nevada. There were three winners, first
Crazylegs Fred, second Bronco and third K2.
That's all except for the Roundup!
Mrs Rusty.
